Venues and Events International, the Swindon-based venue find and event management agency has shown their support to the national ‘Wear a Hat Day’ to help raise awareness for brain tumour research.

There are 16,000 people diagnosed with a brain tumour every year and they can affect people of any age. What’s more, they kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. With this in mind, on Thursday 29th March, Venues and Events International went all out with their hats to help raise awareness of such a worthy cause.

Only 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease, and although the team are only small, for them it was about raising awareness where they can.

The team got together with some homemade hat, hats fit for a wedding and your traditional beanies. They’ve shared their photos with the hashtag #WearAHatDay on Twitter alongside well-known celebrities including Sarah Beeny and Denise Van Outen, both patrons of the charity. Even those not in the office today got involved by sending their photos in.

Anita Lowe, CEO of Venues and Events International said: “We have in the past supported many causes through these innovative ideas as it’s so important for us as a team to support charitable causes where we can. This one in particular is close to my heart and therefore was important to raise as much awareness as we could.”
