Tracey Hilton, newly appointed Account Director, attended the recent Cvent CONNECT Europe 2018 at The Business Design Centre.
Cvent CONNECT Europe saw 900+ attendees immersed in 60 breakout sessions, product demos exhibits and 20+ hours of training over two action-packed days. These included an Innovation Pavilion, Tech Tours and a full day of Training Workshops and Certifications.
Over the two days, Tracey took a lot from the event and has shared some of her personal key highlights with us…
Variety in sessions
There was such a variety in sessions but the one I found really powerful was looking at how to engage with your delegates at events. The panel discussed the importance of having an app for your event and whether it’s considered a necessity or gimmick? Personally, I believe a necessity as it helps to deliver memorable events for your delegates. There’s also so much power in the networking opportunities that the app provides for your delegates. It not only allows you with the opportunity to connect pre-event, to start building a relationship, you can continue building upon these relationships throughout the event lifecycle to find out what you can do for them how you can potentially work closer together. Watch out for a future blog on event app technology coming on this soon…
Women in Leadership
My second highlight of the show was the Women in Leadership session. This panel showed us that as women we need to be less emotional and more strategic thinking with more confident. Sometimes we can be guilty of always thinking “am I doing the right thing or not”. We should have a strategic goal and focus on the direction we want to achieve. Can you believe there’s only 7% of women that are CEO or leaders within a business – this is something that needs to change.
