I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to attend a FAM trip at the gorgeous Langham in London recently. The Langham is the most breath-taking hotel, so classy and truly British so of course I jumped at the chance to experience it for myself.
This weekend of fun was great because I was allowed to take one of my best friends to experience it with me. Taking a guest with you came at a small supplement of £50 and donated straight to the Great Ormond Street Hospital – how amazing is that?
We arrived at leisure on Friday and checked into our spacious room, greeted with a lovely card from Alexandra Stevens, Director of Group Sales at the Langham and a chocolate treat!
We then met with Alex, Bruno Tomazzi, Senior Regional Sales Manager at Avenue Sales and Marketing, and the other FAM attendees for a few pre-dinner drinks and dinner in The Conservatory. The Conservatory is a beautiful, secluded room perfect for a private dinner/meeting that needs to be away from the public eye.
Dinner was absolutely delightful. I had smoked salmon to start, chicken for main and a chocolate creation for dessert. It truly would be a lovely experience for any dinner whether that is as part of a weekend group visit to London or a sales dinner for a company based in London wanting to stay central.
On Saturday morning, we took breakfast in Roux at The Landau which exceeded my expectations. If there is eggs benedict on the menu, there’s no way I can turn it down!
The service was second to none, at breakfast on Sunday the staff even remembered my name from Saturday morning! It was so clear to see that The Langham pride themselves on the boutique and personal service they give to their guests, the same way we do with our clients at Venues and Events International.
We met with everyone in the hotel lobby after breakfast, ready for a day of adventure! We were taken on the most amazing experience and one I definitely won’t ever forget. Small Car Big City is the only way I want to travel through London from now on! Their fleet of restored classic Mini Coopers and team of amazingly knowledgeable local guides know how to show you the capital through the eyes of a Londoner!
We explored the secret wonders of Neal’s Yard, went on the Gin Safari at Mr Fogg’s Gin Parlour and fuelled our creativity at Leake Street Arches. If you ever find yourself in London wondering what is there for me to do (I know, unlikely!) you absolutely must visit these places.
After the adventures were over, we headed back to the Langham to experience their new informal counter dining in Roux at the Landau. It was absolutely fantastic to be able to see the highly skilled chefs create their masterpieces right in front of our eyes and with such ease too. Every dish really was like a work of art.
The Buratta that you can see in the picture is delivered fresh into Roux at the Landau from Wimbledon every single day – incredible touch.
I can’t thank Alex and Bruno enough for their hospitality over the weekend and for showing us London in true Langham style.
I can’t recommend the Langham and it’s fabulous event space, restaurants, bars and incredible rooms any more. Whether you are organising a conference, wedding or an incentive weekend, the Langham has something uniquely incredible for the occasion.
