I started at Venues and Events International in October 2018 after 10 years with Marriott Hotels.
I have 2 favourite destinations: Italy and the Black Sea area. Italy has so much culture, history and fantastic food. The Black Sea area has amazing sites with great architecture, weather and beaches!
What made you want to become a Conference Planning Executive?
I started my career as an Event Manager. When the opportunity came up I applied for the position of Head of Events Team. This role is a great opportunity for me to learn new skills, but also to share my experience and knowledge with our team of Event Managers.
There are many moments I my career which are memorable. My biggest highlight is that during my work as a manager I had the chance to mentor and coach people to help them to progress at their career.
I like to get to the office early before anyone else has arrived, giving me some time to look over my emails and plan my day. During the day I am usually speaking to my clients and following up on their events on the phone or face to face. We always have a daily meeting within the team and I always do my best to finish my working day on time as I believe that a work life balance is really important!
In my previous job, we had a large restructure of our company. That time was challenging, but also I learnt a lot about myself and how to become a better manager.
I have been in the hospitality industry for almost 14 years now, I think that in the next 10 years I would like to see myself as Director of Events or COO! I love organising and running events for our clients, so I cannot imagine being in the office from 9 to 5 every day!
