In The Know – Magna Pars
A truly unique experience is rare in this modern age, but if you’re looking for one – Milan could be the place for you.
The Magna Pars Hotel is marketed as the first “Hotel à Parfum”. Established to express Italian excellence and to offer its guests a unique sensory experience. The hotel has beautiful bedroom suites, a gastronomic restaurant, gym and spa as you would expect, but the jewel in its crown is the fully working onsite perfume laboratory.
The lab houses an elegant wooden cabinet inspired by the memorable pharmaceutical laboratory of Marvin, the historic cosmetic brand established by Vincenzo Martone, it holds objects from the Sixties from the family archive and defines the work area.
Warm wood combined with powerful iron and steel are used for the structure of the four “islands”, the distinctive element of the Perfume Laboratory: here hotel guests can appreciate the Thirty-nine essences selected from floral, fruity and wood aromas.
A small private library with works on the art of perfume-making and literature about perfume can pique the interest of guests and accompany the olfactory experience.
The hotel houses 39 suites, each associated with it’s own scent, or essence. Nineteen Suites are dedicated to flowering trees and bushes such as the Gardenia, Jasmine, Neroli, and Magnolia. Nine Suites are inspired by wood such as Vetiver, Sandalwood, and Patchouli. Eleven Suites are dedicated to fruit trees such as the Medlar Tree, Fig Three, and Cherry Tree. As a final touch of detail that epitomises this fantastic property -the location of the Suites is based on the height of the tree they represent.
Event space within the hotel is surprisingly large, with 3 rooms that can be partitioned and sectioned to suit any event.
Magna Pars is a true one off – a place to be experienced not visited.
