Conference Planning Executive, Amy Standen takes us through her pick of the countries racetracks and racecourses.
We recently used Milbrook for a huge ride and drive event for MAN Truck and Bus UK Ltd and it is a fantastic venue. The vast amount of track and off road driving space is all completely self-contained and totally private meaning special licences are not required for large venues and you’re able to manage the confidentiality of your event. These aspects were crucial to the success of our event. In addition to the outdoor space, the indoor areas are excellent and worked perfectly for registration, catering and presentations.
Home to world famous events such as the Festival of Speed, Goodwood is the luxury option in the racetrack circuit. With 12,000 acres of parkland, a 4 star hotel and adjacent circuit the complex offers endless possibilities. For those wanting a taster, Goodwood Circuit now offers experience days for corporate events.
Located just outside of the town centre, Newbury Racecourse has its own train station, one stop from Newbury Station, with direct connections to London Paddington – only 50 mins away, making this an ideal ‘out of town’ base for a large conference or event. The venue offers 3 large Grandstands with 42 syndicate rooms and 4,000m2 of hard standing. We have previously used Newbury Racecourse for a large family fun day event and a large annual staff conference and experienced the best of what this venue has to offer, both indoors and outdoors.
There’s much more to the home of jump racing than horses. Managed by experts, The Jockey Club, Cheltenham Racecourse is as versatile as it is large, boasting 2,600m2 of flexible indoor space as well as 360 acres of outdoor space. Free car parking and WiFi make this an ideal choice for larger events on a budget, without compromising on quality.
