Amy Standen, Conference Planning Executive, has written our newest In The Know instalment, sharing her top venues in Wales that an offer you a perfect setting for your next event. We’ve covered various UK locations recently and we think that Wales deserves recognition in its own right as it is home to some fantastic hotels and venues that are perfectly tailored to host your future meetings and events. The hospitality is second to none in Wales and we always hear delegates exclaiming ‘just how easy it was to get there’, as it has several direct transport links throughout the country that can join delegates from all over the UK. Wales could be the perfect option to reintroduce face-face meetings as you can travel directly to venues and avoid public transport in most instances. Voco St. David’s, Cardiff

Voco St David’s is a part of the global brand, IHG, with Voco being their international lifestyle brand. In summary, this brand prides itself on being reliable, where organisers can be assured of the dependable service they can receive, and yet they also describe themselves as being different enough to be fun – Voco St David’s definitely meets this mark!

It is a luxury, 5-star hotel that sits right along the river, with fantastic views out onto Cardiff Bay. The hotel has eight contemporary event spaces , allowing between 10-400 delegates between these spaces. They are all beautifully finished and completely versatile – also boasting their own gorgeous views over the Bay, a welcome change of scenery from the high risers of London! They can also offer an outdoor terrace, The Waves Terrace, for those special drinks receptions and break outs, allowing guests a literal breath of fresh air!

Many of the 142 bedrooms exhibit homely comforts, whilst remaining light and airy with floor-to-ceiling windows, and some may even be lucky and get a balcony! This hotel can offer the comfort and indulgence of a weekend getaway, as well as being conveniently located in the capital of Wales for delegate travel.

The Admiral St David is the bar/restaurant at the hotel and draws inspiration for its cuisine from Asia, whilst incorporating local, seasonal Welsh produce. The hotel has secured the Gold Award by Visit Wales and the spa is regularly ranked in the top five spas in the UK, where guests can enjoy a little relaxing therapy.

The Celtic Manor Resort, Newport

The Celtic Manor Resort is one that couldn’t possibly be missed off of this list, and the scale of the resort does indeed make it unmissable full stop! Based in Newport and just off of the M4, this resort sits amongst stunning scenery and is a striking sight to see from miles away. Initial impressions are set the moment you walk in, with the grand open lobby and soaring atrium not failing to impress even a seasoned event organiser.

Mercure Holland House, Cardiff

Part of the immense Accor brand, Mercure Holland House is situated in the heart of Cardiff. This four-star hotel boasts one of the largest conference facilities in Cardiff, capable of seating up to 700 guests and has a total of 16 meeting rooms.

Bodysgallen Hall

Heading much further up North to a little town called Llandudno, this beautiful 17th centre country house hotel is set over 200 acres of parkland.
