CONFEC in Venice
Earlier this month, our Events Manager, Eloise Perry flew off to Venice to attend CONFEC Red 2017
Ah Venice, a city immersed in history where gondola’s drift along the Venetian canals and the ice-cream tastes better than anywhere else in Italy. I love this city but sightseeing would have to wait as I was here to meet international hotel chains, venues, convention bureaux and DMCs over two days of meetings and networking as a CONFEC Red hosted buyer.
We were kindly hosted by the Hilton Molino Stucky, a beautifully restored former flower mill on the tranquil island of Giudecca, which has fantastic views of the city.
This five-star property is located just 30 minutes away from the airport and offers a shuttle boat service into the heart of Venice. It is also Venice’s largest congress centre, boasting 379 rooms and suites, 14 meeting rooms, a wide range of bars and restaurants and a panoramic rooftop pool.
Located on the top floor of the hotel is the Skyline rooftop bar – one of the most exclusive nightspots in Venice and a perfect choice for exclusive receptions with breathtaking views.
Throughout the two days, I was able to meet with a wide range of suppliers, sharing ideas, knowledge and building future business relationships. Plus, I did get to do a bit of sightseeing and wander the winding back-streets before a tour of Doge’s Palace and St Mark’s Square from some very enthusiastic local guides.
Thank-you Confec Red, it was a fantastic programme against a stunning Italian backdrop. Venice, I will return!
