Spotlight on…is a unique look at individuals from Venues and Events International providing insight into their daily roles and why they have a passion for the meetings and events industry. Here is our fifth Spotlight on…Will Dalzell, Senior Event Manager.
I’ve been at Venues and Events International for five months but worked with Anita and the team previously in a different role and have loved the opportunity to come back as a Senior Event Manager.
For me it has to be the Valamar President, Croatia – an amazing hotel with stunning views. What’s not to like?
I love what I do for a living and want to succeed at the highest level I can. I started in venue-find and was enjoying working with clients on finding that perfect venue. I wanted to take this one step further and get into the detail of the event so took the first chance I could to join the events team for the previous company I worked for. When the opportunity came up to come back to Venues and Events International as Senior Event Manager, it was a no-brainer.
The places I have had the privilege of seeing and experiencing and working with high profile and celebrity clients.
I wouldn’t say an Event Manager has a typical day, that’s why I enjoy what I do.
Definitely my biggest challenge to date is the delegate management for a 3,500 person event. The scale of this was quite daunting at the time, but a massive achievement once we completed it.
…As Chief Exec maybe?
