How long have you been at Venues and Events International?
Almost 12 years having started originally at Venues Unlimited and I have continued the journey with Anita and Chris through to Venues and Events International.
What would you say is your favourite venue or destination?
Chewton Glen – it’s a beautiful venue and love it when I get chance to visit.
What made you want to become a Conference Planning Executive?
I love what a varied job it is, it’s always challenging (in a good way) and I love venue finding! That’s why I’ve been doing it for so long.
What is your biggest highlight of your career so far?
It has to be going to Monaco for an inspection for one of our clients. International venue find always adds an exciting element to the job, and you couldn’t ask for much more excitement than visiting Monaco.
Can you describe a typical day of your job?
Multi-tasking and juggling a lot of events!
What’s been your biggest challenge to date?
Having a client who requires something that is just not in the market place, however with a challenge comes opportunity and it always gives me job satisfaction when I overcome the challenges and find an alternative solution the client loves.
What top tip would you give to anyone coming into the industry?
You need to enjoy working in a fast paced environment and be able to multi task very well with great communication skills.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
Staying in a similar role. This doesn’t sound very driven, but I love it and it suits my work/home life/family balance.
What gives you that #FridayFeeling?
Glass of prosecco!
