Loyalty and progression within the industry has resulted in Venues and Events International promoting Kim Collins to Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Kim has shown determination and progressed in her career since starting in the meetings and events industry 20 years ago. Kim’s career began as Restaurant Manager at Hilton Hotels before joining Venues Event Management in 2004. During her time with Venues Events Management, Kim played an integral part in developing the events division for the company, where she continued to grow this team as Director of Events at Capita Travel and Events following the acquisitions by Expotel and then Capita plc.
The growth of Venues and Events International has led to the creation of the role, Chief Operating Officer (COO). Both the meetings and events division are continuing to grow, and it became clear there was a requirement for a more senior role to manage the operational teams, ensuring they’re aligned to the strategic direction of business set out by the board.
Kim’s extensive history and loyalty with Venues and Events International’s CEO, Anita Lowe, saw her join the company in February as Sage Account Director. Having successfully delivered the Sage events programme over the last six months, Kim has also recently worked with the team to re-introduce the company core values. It’s her passion, drive and enthusiasm that led to her successfully being appointed as COO. Kim will start immediately alongside the continued management of the Sage account.
Newly-appointed COO, Kim has this to say about the new role: “This is such an exciting time for Venues and Events International, with the Account Management team taking on much more of a strategic role, we’re successfully growing our existing client base whilst bringing on board new clients. This is a fantastic opportunity and I’m delighted to be taking on this role. Whilst continuing to support and deliver the Sage events programme, I believe I’ll be able to drive the business forward to ensure we continue to provide high-levels of customer service and deliver memorable events.
Already in my six months back within the business, I feel at home and absolutely love being part of a boutique agency who lives by its values and always puts the client’s needs first.”
Anita Lowe, CEO for Venues and Events International adds: “For the business it was the right time to bring in this role to support with our strategic vision. I need someone to support me with overseeing the operational aspects of the business and Kim has proven experience in developing teams and ensuring continuity between different divisions.
Kim’s vision is aligned with everything we believe in at Venues and Events International and I can’t wait to see what she delivers to help us continue to go from strength to strength. We also know that Kim has built up a brilliant relationship with Sage and will be continuing to develop this relationship in her new role as their Account Director.”
