In a follow up to our article ‘Have you considered outdoor events this summer?’, the team have shared some of their favourite venues with outdoor spaces to help inspire you this summer.

Inspiration for outdoor spaces

Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa, New Milton, Hampshire

Tell us about the hotel. Chewton Glen is an exquisitely designed luxury hotel set in the heart of Hampshire, surrounded by copious amounts of green outside space and just a short walk from the beach!

What do you love about their outdoor space. I love Chewton Glen for its interiors and its exteriors. Part of the Iconic Luxury Hotels Collection, the clue really is in the title. Al Fresco dining, games on the lawn, a walk to the beach or overnight in a Treehouse. There’s every opportunity to take your event outside at Chewton and to keep the luxury whilst doing so.

Deer Park, Devon

Tell us about the hotel. Deer Park is Set in a Georgian mansion on 80 landscaped acres, this stylish hotel is 2 miles from the A30 and 2.6 miles from the market town of Honiton.

What do you love about their outdoor space? This hotel has lots of outdoor space and in each area you will find a surprise such as a beautiful wedding arch and wall with lights on the ground leading up to it. There’s a beautiful garden area where fresh produce is grown, lots of walks/paths. Finally to top it all off – they have a couple treehouses which are stunning!

Rhinefield House Hotel, New Forest, Hampshire

Tell us about the hotel. With beautiful surroundings and a blend of Tudor and Gothic architecture, Rhinefield is the most perfect country hotel in the New Forest for a fairy-tale wedding venue. It is also the ideal setting for an indulgent break and an inspiring conference venue for meetings, team building or product launches. Downtime means the chance to take in the great outdoors we have on our doorstep, whether its pony trekking, long walks in the forest or a day trip to the sea. 

What do you love about their outdoor space? I really like this property. It is part of a group but so individual still. Set right in the midst of the forest, it has really superb extensive gardens, an outdoor pool and really special rooms like the Alhambra which is bejewelled. The suites and bedrooms are just lovely. Feels really special!

Wyboston Lakes, Bedfordshire

Tell us about the hotel. Event & meeting facilities at Wyboston Lakes Resort are really quite special. With two dedicated meeting and event venues, the resort offers a huge range of individual spaces, for training, showcases, product launches, exhibitions, and events.

What do you love about their outdoor space? There’s lots of outdoor space, which are perfect for team-building and corporate hospitality. The Ride Leisure team has over 15 years of providing fun days, including Adventure Packages on both the land and water. Activities include Wake Boarding, Water Skiing, Jet Skis, Banana Boat, 4 x 4 Off Road, Quad Bikes, Archery, Air Rifle, Laser Clays, Jet Bike, Paddle Board, F1 Power Boat, High End Land Rover, Axe Throwing, Segway and much more.

They offer outdoor food for events and areas for seating. The venue are offering flexibility with outdoor meetings and have lots of outdoor grounds (and can even use the lake) for team building.

Carden Park, Cheshire

Tell us about the hotel. Carden Park has many options for clients looking for a venue with a vast amount of outside space. 1000 acres in fact! Including a 3 acre vineyard, 2 championship golf courses, a newly opened purpose-built £10 million Spa with a large amount of outdoor space and their brand new vertigo high ropes course which is due to open in Spring 2021. Vertigo aerial adventure.

What do you love about their outdoor space? Carden Park has so many opportunities when placing an event there. They have done a huge amount of refurbishment into the property and its looking amazing. Such a great location, only 20 minutes from Chester, but has the feeling you are in the middle of nowhere in the relaxing grounds.

Farncombe Estate, Worcestershire

Tell us about the hotel. The Farncombe Estate is a glorious sprawl of forest and field, riddled with rambling trails and cycle routes and, of course, home to the delightful hotels – Dormy House, Foxhill Manor, and The Fish.

What do you love about their outdoor space? The estate describe themselves as a country playground for extraordinary events and a place to escape from the rigours of the everyday world and both are completely accurate. There is something for everyone here, especially when it come to outdoor activities. Adrenaline junkies and ramblers alike can find something for them and the country homely feel and luxury of the properties just add to the experience.

Stoke Park, Buckinghamshire

Tell us about the hotel. This gorgeous hotel is set in beautiful grounds and includes a lake which is rather iconic. We all remember the famous ‘mini break’ and rowing scenes from Bridget Jones’s Diary!

What do you love about their outdoor space? The drive up to the venue, through the beautiful grounds always makes for excitement and anticipation. As the jaw-droppingly stunning hotel comes into sight, the thrill of arriving starts to kick in. The uniquely designed bedrooms vary in décor and each one feels special. The food in the restaurant is out of this world. And the Spa….well, that’s another story!

Beaverbrook, Surrey

Tell us about the hotel. Stunning English Country House, steeped in history, overlooking the Surrey Hills, within 470 acres of beautiful grounds and gardens.

What do you love about their outdoor space? It’s a beautiful Country House Hotel dating back to the late 1870s and has now been beautifully modernised and restored to provide lavish interiors and grounds. An array of outdoor activities can be provided from Clay Shooting and Fishing to French Boules and Croquet. Even Bicycle hire to explore the estate.  Inside there is a small intimate cinema, great idea for private screenings.  Several choices for dining, with the Garden Restaurant suitable for Al Fresco Dining and overlooking the Kitchen Garden. A modern contemporary Spa. This venue is superb and offers a little bit of everything for each individual guest. Great venue for Board Meetings ,VIPs and Incentives, Drinks Receptions and Dinners.

Fairmont Jasper Park, Jasper, Alberta, Canada

The resort’s charming village of cedar chalets and Luxury Signature Cabins, all connected by picturesque paths, allow guests to explore the natural environment of the hotel within the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies.

What do you love about their outdoor space? I was lucky enough to go here on a FAM trip and then 9 years later it was one of the stops on my honeymoon. The surroundings are stunning, there is a golf course, outdoor pool, a lake and breath taking grounds with individual lodges dotted about which can be used for events. The staff are out of this world and so is the food. Would go here again and again!
