At the start of 2021, there was still uncertainty for the future of the meetings and events as the world continued to come to grips with the pandemic. With the successful rollout of the vaccination programme, lockdown restrictions have gradually eased, allowing businesses to slowly rebuild and return to some normality.
This has certainly been the case for venue find and event management agency, Venues and Events International, who have recently reported growth in their events division due to increased visibility and forecasting for future live events.
The same can now be said for the venue finding team as the average lead time for bookings has decreased from 484 days in January 2021 to 84 days in September 2021. This eighty-two per cent decrease in average lead time demonstrates the strong confidence from clients in return of meetings and events. As a result, Venues and Events International are delighted to welcome Rebecca Thorne and Natalie Tingey to the venue finding team to support the increase in business volume.
Thorne joins the team with a degree in event management and recent experience working for Greene King as excited to become a Venue Ninja: “After graduating in 2020, I am looking forward to putting my degree into practice and working with a team that has a wealth of experience in the industry. I already feel so settled in and can’t wait to work with and get to know the team more. It seems the perfect first job in the industry and I feel very fortunate to have been given the opportunity!”
Tingey has been working for Venues and Events International as part of a wider 18-month project and has since joined the team in a permanent role. “I’m delighted to have secured a permanent position here at Venues and Events International within the venue find team. My passion for the industry mirrors the company values. I am excited about this career journey and to be part of an award-winning company.”
And there’s more exciting news for the events team as Lottie Davis is announced as the most recent appointment. Davis joins following five years with Agiito (formerly Capita Travel and Events) and brings with her a breadth of knowledge and experience. “The team at Venues and Events International deliver some amazing events, and I’m thrilled to be a part of that magic! Having come from a large agency, working with multiple clients, I feel I’ll be able to bring fresh ideas and creative concepts for new events.”
Anita Lowe, CEO at Venues and Events International, is overjoyed by the continued growth of both divisions. “After such a challenging time for us all, it feels so good to be once again growing our teams to ensure we deliver the best in service for our clients. Our industry lost so much talent due to the pandemic, and now we’re in a much stronger position to bring it back and to also welcome those wanting to start out in the industry. It’s certainly an exciting time for us and already looking at further recruitment opportunities for our venue find, events and even our finance team as the business levels return to pre-pandemic times.”
