This week’s Venue Spotlight, specially chosen by Trudi, takes us to The Lensbury Resort. Situated just 7 miles outside Central London, this luxurious accommodation sits on the banks of the River Thames at Teddington.

This stunning 4-star hotel, with its unique riverside locations, has a rich history. With the hotel recently celebrating its 100th birthday in 2020. The iconic Lensbury club was first formed in 1920 as a sports and social club for employees of the Dutch petroleum giant, Shell. The main buildings that occupied the site from 1920 were demolished. The Clubhouse was completed in 1938 which still stands as the heart of the club to this day.

Fast forward to the early 2000s when the site benefitted from a significant investment programme. Transforming the facilities, bedrooms and grounds into The Lensbury we know today. The venue is great for meetings and events as it includes 42 meeting and event rooms suiting guest requirements for up to 260 attendees.

The hotel offers 155 rooms and suites to accommodate all of their guests’ needs. Whether it’s a family or business trip, The Lensbury looks to provide the same level of warm hospitality to everyone, whilst offering a range of services and activities. The classic hotel also features a restaurant, bar and lounge to provide customers with a luxurious setting whilst they dine.

Why I Love This Venue

The stunning location right on the river bank is perfect for a getaway. Whilst only being within a few miles on Central London and only 6 miles from Heathrow airport. The resort makes for a great alternative if clients require London level transport links, but want to be out of town a little. Whilst offering a variety of on-site leisure facilities, it also benefits from some great nearby external activities i.e. Hampton Court Palace, Kew Gardens, Richmond Park.
