Originally opened in 1906 and designed by British architect, William Young, the building has stood to witness many world-shaping events. The former building had 1100 rooms used by Churchill as a headquarters during World War II. The site located in Whitehall, London has undergone a monumental transformation. With the creation of 120 rooms and suites, 85 branded residences and 11 restaurants and bars.
The OWO is part of the Raffles Hotels and Resorts brand, this will be the first Raffles Hotel in London. Raffles have recently joined AccorHotels group, one of the world’s largest global hotel companies. AccorHotels operates in more than 95 countries and also owns Fairmont and Swissotel. Owning close to 4000 luxury, midscale and economy hotels and resorts between the companies.
The Old War Office was a major inspiration for Ian Fleming. The man who wrote the famous James Bond series after working as a key liaison officer. The building has since gone on to feature in several movies, including Skyfall and most recently No Time To Die. The OWO will be the flagship hotel for the Raffles group, meaning the brand will not be holding back with the services and fine experience they have to offer. The luxury hotel will feature a ballroom with a seating capacity of over 600 people, making it a top contender for hosting events.
