Our Venue Spotlight this week, chosen by Trudi, is the stunning Mount Juliet Estate. The venue is located 90 minutes from Dublin, driving through the beautiful Irish countryside. As well it is only 20 minutes from Kilkenny, which has a lovely castle that can also be used for offsite events.

The hotel has so much history and has 125 rooms over two properties.  The properties are very close to each other on the estate and guests can walk between the two.  The Manor House has 32 rooms and Hunters Yard has the other 93 rooms. The Manor House can be used exclusively (as can the whole property if necessary). It contains a small cinema room, Michelin Star restaurant, bars, terraces and is where afternoon tea is served. Hunters Yard also has an excellent restaurant The Hound, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with an adjacent bar.

There are several function rooms on site – 7 in total.  The largest of which is the McCalmont Suite which can accommodate up to 240 delegates theatre style or 200 for a banquet. Weddings and events can also be held outside in good weather in either The Walled Garden or The Tiered Lawn.

Mount Juliet Estate offers equestrian, falconry, fishing, and golf.  There is also a spa on-site, a gym, and an indoor swimming pool, with plans to expand the spa.  Bicycles are available for rent and there are kids’ activities on-site also.  For guests who fancy something a little different, there is glassblowing close by. As well, there is plenty of complimentary parking on site.

This is a fantastic property for incentives or small groups who want to be in an inspiring location to work – everything is on site, but with options to go off site if needed.

Why I Love This Venue

Personally, this felt like a very magical place to me.  The hotel has a guest relations/historian on site who tells enchanting stories about the history of the estate.  I loved how peaceful the hotel was and service is excellent, attentive but not intrusive.  Nothing was too much trouble and I’d recommend this hotel without hesitation.
