We caught up with Greg this week for our latest venue spotlight – Great Fosters. Located just outside Windsor in the heart of Surrey, the Great Fosters is a part of the Alexander Hotel Collection and is set in 50 acres of iconic gardens and grounds.

Originally a royal hunting lodge, the stunning Tudor estate is rich with over 400 years of history. The grounds include listed topiary mazes, a fountain, Japanese bridge and even a sundial gifted by Sir Francis Drake. This makes for a tranquil setting fitting for a now luxurious hotel with a selection of meeting and event spaces.

Referring to itself as a ‘chocolate box’ boutique hotel, Great Fosters includes 56 individually designed bedrooms and suites. The grand hotel also boasts 8 private hire spaces, spilt between the main house and the Coach house. With plenty of space for exclusive use and the Tithe Barn catering for up to 250, Great Fosters is perfect for all manners of get togethers. The hotel also specialises in English and European cuisine, with options of dining in the Michelin starred restaurant, The Tudor room, or The Estate Grill.

In terms of activities within the grounds, guests can wander the dream-like gardens and mazes. The hotel also includes a tennis court for lovers of the sport, and a heated swimming pool. Other outdoor activities include bee-keeping and outdoor pizza making. The local area offers plenty more, with Windsor Castle a close destination, along with Kew Gardens and Sunningdale Golf Club.

Why Greg loves this venue

Great Fosters is a charming property. With its luxurious interiors and magical gardens making for an perfect venue for special occasions. Coupled with a superb Michelin-starred cuisine and plenty of outdoor activities, the hotel just sound almost too good to be true!
