Tracy was whisked away to Dubrovnik at the start of October to attend the M&I Forum. There are many events like these across the world throughout the year.

Day One

To begin her trip, Tracy arrived in Dubrovnik and checked into Sun Gardens before a spot of lunch. Sun Gardens is a resort on the coast in Dubrovnik. It has its own hotel, apartments, shops, and restaurants running down a walkway to its beach. On the first evening, it was launch night. Everyone attending the forum went along to a buffet on Market Street, one of the resort’s private streets. This gave them the chance to get familiar with each other.

Day Two

The next day was time to get some work done. At the forum, they ran 10-minute speed dating style appointments with suppliers to allow everyone to meet with whom they needed in a timely way. This continued up to lunch, then the attendees had a boat trip. They hopped on a boat and sailed from Sun Gardens private port over to Old Town Dubrovnik. Here they went on a guided tour of the city. The area was packed with history and some amazing buildings, a memorable tour for sure. After the tour, the group got some much-appreciated free time to have a look around the spectacular town for themselves. When they had taken in as much as they could, Tracy and the group jumped aboard the boat and went back to the resort. To finish off an exciting day, they then had dinner in Posat. Posat is a fine dining restaurant with a spectacular view across the city.

Day Three

The following day started with quick appointments in the morning to leave time for activities during the rest of the day. Tracy had some free time in the afternoon to relax and make the most of her time in the lovely Croatian city. But the main event came at night. Sun Gardens hosted an amazing Gala Dinner for the attendees. The unfortunate weather caused a last-minute change, with the dinner moving from by the pool to inside one of their event spaces. However, it all ran smoothly, and everyone had a great time. A perfect way to round off the short trip.

On the final day, Tracy had her last few appointments with suppliers before having some lunch and flying home.

Tracy’s Highlight

“The highlight of the trip for me was the ship across to the Old Town. I’m a huge Game of Thrones fan and a lot of it was filmed there which was very interesting. The whole city was beautiful, and the tour of the Old Town was fantastic as well. You can drive from Sun Gardens to Old Town but the boat we took was the perfect, scenic way to travel around. Plus, it would be great for a drinks reception. I also liked the format of the meetings in the morning. It was a quick catch-up with suppliers before getting some free time or doing activities in the afternoon. I managed to squeeze in 40 appointments on my trip – it really didn’t feel like it!”
